aquatics centre – zaha hadid
auf grund des vorzeitigen todes von zaha hadid, folgt nun ein weiterer beitrag über eines ihrer gebäude. das aquatics centre ist ein teil des queen elizabeth olympic parks. dieser war der hauptaustragungsort der olympischen sommerspiele 2012. im jahr 2011 wurde die halle eröffnet und bot platz für 17.500 zuschauer. nach den spielen wurden die tribünen rückgebaut und somit die anzahl auf 2.800 sitzplätze, plus 1.000 plätze, reduziert. besonders charakteristisch ist die weitauskragende, geschwungene dachkonstruktion, die sich wie eine welle über die darunterliegenden schwimmbecken legt. zaha hadid versuchte stehts bewegung in ihre skulpturalen gebäude zu bringen um den eindruck eines fliessenden objektes zu erwecken. 10 jahre nahm sie vergebens mit ihrem büro an wettbewerben teil, erst nach diesem kampf erfolgte der erfolg. wobei sie erst spät anfing in london, wo ihr büro zu hause ist, zu bauen. begutachtet man den verlauf ihrer projekte ist eine entwicklung von kantigen zu runden und fließenden formen zu erkennen. die erste weibliche star architektin hat ihre vorstellung von architektur perfektioniert und starb vor ihrer zeit.
because of the early death of zaha hadid, i’ve decided to post another of her buildings. the aquatics centre is a part of the queen elizabeth olympic park, which was the main venue of the sommer olympics 2012. furthermore the hall was openend in the year 2011 and offered space for 17.500 viewer. after the games the tribune was reduced to 2.800, plus 1.000, seats. especially the overhanging and curved roof forms a main characteristic of the building. the construcion seems to be like a wave that covers the swimming pools underneath. zaha hadid allways tried to bring movement into her sculptural creatins so that the constructions seem to be flowing. it took her, with her office, 10 years to become successful at competitiones. in which she started to build in london even later than that, even though her main office is located here. when you look at the process of her art, you can see a huge development from her beginnings to the latest work. the polygonal forms were transformed into flowing sculptures. all in all the first female star architect brought her idea of architecture into perfection and died way to early.
