faro de punta pechiguera
120 jahre lang war der alte, zylindrische leuchtturm, der sich im südwesten von lanzarote befindet, in betrieb. im jahr 1866 wurde der 10 m hohe turm errichtet und 2002 zum kulturgut von besonderem interesse erklärt. das aus vulkanischem basaltgestein erbaute bauwerk wurde vom auf gran canaria geborenen ingenieur juan leon y castillo und von clavijo y pou entworfen. im rechteckigen sockelgebäude war die wohnung des leuchtturmwärters zu finden.
for 120 years, the old cylindrical lighthouse, which is located in the south-west of Lanzarote, was in operation. in 1866 the 10 m high tower was built and it was dedicated as a special cultural asset in 2002. the construction which consists of volcanic basalt rock was designed by the canarian engineer juan leon y castillo and clavijo y pou. furthermore the dwelling house of the lighthouse was found in the rectangular pedestal building.
castillo de las coloradas
das castillo de las coloradas wurde zwischen 1741 und 1744 errichtet. hierbei handelt es sich um ein kleines, rundes turmfort in der nähe von playa blanca, das teil des wehrsystems von lanzarote war und zur abschreckung der piraten dienen sollte. des weiteren besteht das basaltfels gebäude aus zwei geschossen und verfügt über einen hochgelegenen eingang mit glockenturmartigen aufbau. richtung süden ist ein guter blick auf die nachbarinsel fuerteventura möglich.
the castillo de las coloradas was built between 1741 and 1744. it is a small round tower near by playa blanca. furthermore it was part of the defense system of lanzarote and was meant to deter the pirates. the basalt rock building consists of two floors and has a high-rise entrance with a bell-tower-like structure. when you look to the south you can get a good view of the neighboring island fuerteventura.
