die altstadt tel avivs bildet das kontrastprogramm zum cleanen erscheinungsbild der weissen stadt im internationalen stil. das gebiet der ehemals eigenständige hafenstadt jaffa wurde bereits 3500 v.chr. besiedelt. heute ist der stadtteil einwenig heruntergekommen und trashig aber durchaus mit einem gewissen charme erfüllt. direkt hinter dem 14 km langen strand sind an einem teilstück charakter starke, verrostete gebäude und autos zu finden.

the historic city center is the exact opposite of the clean appearance of the white city of tel aviv, which consist of buildings in the international style. furthermore the area of the former independent seaport jaffa has been populated since 3500 bc. today the district is rather in a bad state and looks a little messy, but it’s charming anyway. you can find rusted buildings and cars next to a part of the beach, which has a length of 14 km.
