auditorio alfredo kraus – oscar tusquets
das multifunktionale konzerthaus wurde vom katalanischen architekten oscar tusquets entworfen und 1997 eröffnet. repräsentativ steht das gebäude am südlichen ende der playa de las canteras. tusquets entwurf vereint formen und materialen der moderne mit klassischen kanarischen elementen. dadurch gewinnt die monumentale konstruktion an dynamik und spannung. auf grund der kombination der abtreppung der fassade mit dem roten anbau, der einen kontrast zum naturfarbenen stein des hauptgebäudes aufweist, entsteht ein interessanter anblick.
the multifunctional concert hall was designed by the catalan architect oscar tusquets and opened in the year 1997. it’s located at the southern end of the playa de las canteras. tusquets design combines shapes and materials of the modern spirit with typical canarian forms. thereby the monumental consturction receives a dynamic. because of the combination of the stepping facade with the red extension, which is a contrast to the natural stone colour of the main building, you get an interesting view.

die playa de las canteras befindet sich direkt in las palmas, der hauptstadt von gran canaria. neben dem 3 kilometer langen beinahe weissen sandstrand befindet sich eine ebenso lange und nett gestaltete strandpromenade. da es sich hierbei um den strand mit dem grössten touristenaufgebot handelt ist er natürlich relativ voll, aber umso weiter man nach süden spaziert umso weniger ist los. direkt beim auditorio sind kaum menschen zu sehen.
the playa de las canteras is located directly in las palmas, which is the main city of gran canaria. next to the 3 kilometers long beach you can find a equally long and nicely formed broadwalk. there are a lot of tourists at this beach because it’s one of the main touristicspots of the island, but when you go the end of the beach where the auditoriuo is located there are a less people and you are almost alone.

der 26 stöckige wolkenkratzer befindet sich direkt beim parque de santa catalina und ist auf grund des ungewöhnlichen aussehens und der höhe von 84 metern kaum zu übersehen. die auskragenden balkone sind entlang des rundes kernes des bauwerks angeordnet und wirken auf grund der kantigen form und dem dunklen material wie die haut eines reptils. die kombination der elemente führt zu einem interessanten erscheinungsbild des gebäudes und lässt es wie einen schornstein aussehen.
the skyscraper which has 26 floors is located directly at the parque de santa catalina and easy to find because of it’s unusual appearance and it’s hight of 84 meters. the overhanging balconys are arranged along the round facade and look like the skin of a reptile because of the square-edged form and the dark stone. the combination of the elements leads to a interesting appearance of the structure and the building looks a little like a chimney.
