der von calatrava entworfene büro- und wohnturm ist mit 190 m höhe der höchste wolkenkratzer skandinaviens. 2005 wurde das im stil des dekonstruktivismus geplante bauwerk fertiggestellt. auf grund der drehung der einzelnen geschosse wirkt es als ob sich der turm um seine eigene achse dreht. interessant ist die zum teil nach aussen gelegte konstruktion, welche die symmetrie der aufeinandergestapelten 5 geschossigen kuben, durchbricht und eine gewisse dynamik herbeiführt. durch die luftgeschosse zwischen den kuben wird die monotonie der fassade durchbrochen. allerdings wirkt der turm auf grund der breite der konstruktion im oberen bereich deutlich niedriger als er tatsächlich ist. ursprünglich sollten die wohnungen verkauft werden, aber das interesse der bevölkerung war zu niedrig und somit werden die einheiten vermietet. um den wolkenkratzer herum entsteht ein neues wohnviertel dass sehr gepflegt und sauber wirkt. die gestaltung der küste, von der aus man einen blick auf die öresundbrücke hat, ist sehr gelungen.

the tower block was designed by calatrava and finished in 2005. with the hight of 190 m it’s the highest skyscraper in scandinavia. because of the twist of the levels it looks like the tower is truning arround his own axis. an interesting part is the konstruction that is partly placed outside of the building, that leads to a dynamic between the elements. due to the open floors between the cubes that consist of 5 levels the monotony of the facade is cut through. however the tower looks a lot less high than it is because of the broadness of the building at the top. originally the flats should have been sold but the need was not big enough. That’s why it’s possible to rent the apartments now. around the skyscraper there are a lot of new residential buildings and the surrounding looks very clean. furthermore the configuration of the coast from which you can have a look at the öresundbridge is very nice.

öresundbrücke

auf grund der vom architekten georg rotne entworfenen brücke die im jahr 2000 in betrieb genommen wurde ist es möglich mit dem zug von kopenhagen nach malmö zu reisen. die fahrt dauert ca 30 min und ermöglicht einen guten blick auf die teils unterirdisch geführte konstruktion. interessant ist der übergang vom dunklen tunnel der sich unter dem wasser befindet zur schrägseilbrücke, die aufsteigt bis sie viele meter über dem meer entlang bis zur schwedischen küste führt. der zug fährt im unteren bereich, somit ist das tragwerk gut sichtbar. allerdings ist die abspannung leider nur vom auto aus zu sehen da sich die strasse im oberen teil befindet.

because of the öresundbridge which was designed by georg rotne and finished in the year 2000 it’s possible to get from copenhagen to malmö with the train in only half an hour. during the ride you have a good view at the construction which is partly underneath of the water and leads up to the bridge which is some meters above the sea. furthermore the change between the dark tunnel and the cable-stayed bridge is very interesting. unfortunately it’s not possible to see the anchoring device because the trac of the train is lockated underneath the road.
